I've always enjoyed working people and unless you have worked in HR you won't realise how the unpredictability of human nature which never ceases to amaze me keeps you grounded and challenged.  I tried to explain this once to someone who worked in a finance role who couldn't understand why employee relations work took time.

HR professionals are not afraid of hard work and have the drive and passion to make a difference in the workplace.  The problem is that they can get so used to working every waking hour that they forget their career needs some attention too.  And the longer this pattern continues the more difficult it becomes for them to change the process of what they're doing.

You've studied long and hard to become CIPD qualified and upgrade your membership.  You know that you're capable of realising your potential.  You just need to do something about it.   You owe it to yourself and the people you serve.
