Unlike others who have commented, I have never been a client of EML simply because in 1986, I was the person who founded this company and was CEO until my retirement in 2013.

I know Chris very well - some 20 years ago I received a job application from him. He was at that time a very highly qualified, enthusiastic but inexperienced young man seeking to develop a career in HR consultancy management.

Always eager to learn, after joining EML he was a pleasure to mentor and work with. I always supported his growth and he fully deserved the promotions that came his way. He developed a considerable range of -excellent skills - from responding to and defending Employment Tribunal claims, providing advice and documentation across the full HR spectrum, developing and implementing a range of training and development programmes through to managing complex and often emotive disciplinary/grievance projects.

Chris is a highly knowledgeable and approachable individual who possesses the ability to bring clarity and order when responding to and advising on difficult legal HR issues. His talents in the tribunal arena were extremely good. His case preparation was meticulous - he applied in-depth knowledge and superb attention to detail. His analytical and cross examination skills I never found wanting. Although he had to relinquish tribunal work when he became a Director of the business, I know these are qualities he demands of those who have succeeded him in this role.

Chris has served his time well and has helped many hundreds of clients resolve their difficult people issues. He is a very good listener, who has the knowledge and confidence to challenge the opinions of others - a necessary skill in the world of negotiation and dispute resolution.

A belief I have long held is that any business that provides professional services is only as good as its worst consultant. I trusted Chris implicitly during my time at the helm and he is one of the very best - currently at the top of his profession. A pleasure to know and work with.
