"I don't store personal data, so I don't need cyber insurance" - WHY THIS IS WRONG?
Last year the major focus in the media was on GDPR and the risks of being sued under privacy law for a loss of data. These are still major risks for clients and covered by a standard cyber insurance policy, but actually, the overwhelming majority of cyber claims are related to cybercrime, where money has been stolen, and damage to computer systems, not at all privacy-related.
The threats small businesses now face from cyber attackers are increasing year on year, and cybercriminals are finding new ways to extort businesses. Small businesses are an easy target for cyber attackers as generally, they have immature cybersecurity procedures in place and often cash in the bank.
