Do you invest in the things that allow you to concentrate on the core of your business?

I have a very rare and unusual 1986 Lincoln stretched limousine, but it needs some work to get it through the MOT road test.

I hate the fact that it has become a huge white elephant in our garden, but I've been procrastinating about getting a specialist mechanic in to help me sort it out.

Why? Because I feel guilty.

I've been thinking to myself - "you should be able to do this yourself, it's only basic mechanics " and "what a waste of money, when I could do it myself"

Time to change that thinking!

Restoring old American cars is not my zone of genius. I need to find someone who can do it more quickly and much better than I ever will.

Time not spent trying to sort out this garden ornament can be time better spent working on my business and my photography.

So I am waiting for a quote for the required restauration work and I can breathe a sigh of relief. It is definitely an investment worth making.

So what about you business owners out there? Are you making sure that you invest in the things that allow you to concentrate on the core of your business? Your own zone of genius? Or do you insist that you can do it all and risk being overwhelmed and burnt out?

Is it time that you looked at your business and found experts who can take that burden from your shoulders? Maybe you need a Virtual Assistant to reduce the admin burden? A Bookkeeper or Accountant to deal with the finances?

Or possibly a specialist Brand Photographer (like me) to ensure that you always have a portfolio of beautiful on-brand images to use in your marketing, showcasing both your business and yourself?

It is high time to invest in giving yourself more time!
