Depression is a mental health condition, where one suffers from low mood, poor motivation, fatigue, thoughts of hopelessness and helplessness, poor sleep, changes in appetite and many other symptoms.  According to WHO (2017), more than 300 million people worldwide are suffering from this condition.
From my experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS, I would say that it is important to recognise the signs of depression and seek help as early as possible.
