Individual Client Experience: A Lesson Learned!

Individual Client Experience: A Lesson Learned!

  • In the world of financial advising, there's a tendency to adhere to certain norms and practices. Yet, it's the unique touch, the personalised approach that truly sets one adviser apart from another.
  • Recently, I had the pleasure of receiving feedback from a client. She mentioned "You do things differently than other advisers I've encountered." Initially, I must admit, I was intrigued and perhaps a bit apprehensive.
  • Upon further inquiry, my client explained that what stood out to her was the lack of rush, the absence of pressure to conform to a predetermined timeline. Instead, she felt supported to navigate her financial decisions at her own pace.
  • This feedback served as a poignant reminder of the importance of prioritising the client experience above all else. While there may be industry standards and best practices, what truly matters is the comfort, confidence, and satisfaction of the individual sitting across from me.
  • As financial advisers, we have the privilege and responsibility to guide our clients on their financial journeys. And sometimes, that journey looks different for each person. It's about meeting them where they are, understanding their unique needs and preferences and crafting a tailored approach that resonates with them on a personal level.
So, to fellow advisers, don't be afraid to do things differently because ultimately, it's not about how we compare to others, it's about the meaningful connections we forge and the positive impact we have on the lives of those we serve.
