ISSA, The International Shipsuppliers & Services Association, representing nearly 2,000 ship suppliers throughout the world has appointed Manchester based Urban Fabric Events as the UK partner of PCO (Professional Conference Organiser) to organise the ISSA Annual International Convention in London for a three-year period. The 58th ISSA convention, taking place next year, 31 May – 01 June at Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster, is aimed at businesses wishing to promote their products and services to the merchant and cruise line markets, opening up the lucrative global shipping supplies market to them. John Harding, Urban Fabric Events’ Director of Sales & Development, said: “We are excited to be bringing the conventions to fruition, whilst exploring new ways and experiences to reinforce lasting business relationships with ISSA members from the four corners of the world.” The delegate list will comprise around 500 sales managers and business representatives from over 40 countries who will attend the convention over the two day period. Urban Fabric Events will manage all aspects of the conventions and plans have already being put in place for 2013, including a conference comprising a mix of high profile keynote speakers, discussing topical shipping subjects, a trade exhibition complete with energised plenary. Delegates will also receive leisure and tourism programs to keep them entertained throughout their visit. The convention will conclude with a gala dinner dance, and entertainment by the prestigious Piccadilly Dance Orchestra. Spencer Eade from ISSA, said, “We’re delighted to be working with Urban Fabric Events, we were extremely impressed with the quality of their proposals and their promise to engage and motivate our audience. We are always looking to find ever more innovative ways of serving the global fleet, and with Urban Fabric Events’ strong creative concept and meticulous planning, we are well placed to achieve this over the next three-years.”
