What your work ethic says about you.

A lady in her late 30s came to see me seeking our help with her career having decided to resign for personal reasons. She presented herself well, introduced her CV and then handed over an open reference from her former employer.

It was an excellent reference but one phrase particularly caught my eye: "Jane always does more than is expected of her." Needless to say she found a new career position very quickly.
