• Emotional Intelligence and the Platinum Rule®

The psychologists Salovey and Mayer first used the term 'emotional intelligence' in 1990.

It is defined as the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide one's thinking and action.' It is an essential prerequisite to effective communication.

Over 25 years later most of us still treat and talk to other people how we would ourselves prefer to be treated and spoken to - the Golden Rule.

Why not treat and talk to other people the way they would prefer to be treated and spoken to - what Dr Tony Alessandra calls the Platinum Rule®. It's time to learn how to manage relationships professionally.
