Don't be contaminated by obnoxious people
It is a fact of life that we become like the people with whom we associate. Put more succinctly by Goethe over 200 years ago, “Tell me with whom you consort and I will tell you who you are.”
This is either a "sad fact" or a "great fact" - it all depends on which people you choose to be around! Unfortunately in a working environment the choice is usually not yours to make.
If you are in the wrong environment and surrounded by the wrong people then we strongly recommend that you start proactively managing your working environment.
If that doesn't work then start planning your exit strategy - don't blend into the background becoming gradually disenchanted and unhappy, dare to be different - get out before you are infected!
