In 7 days - if all goes well - pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants will be allowed to serve customers indoors again in England. Along with hotels and other leisure businesses they were among the hardest hit by the pandemic.
However, although the furlough scheme has been extended, pubs are hardly able to satisfy the demand for beer and with a V-shaped economic recovery on the cards, most mainstream lenders have maintained a negative outlook on the sector.
That said, some alternative lenders on our panel, such as secured loan provider Endure Fund, have bucked the trend by lending to good hospitality operators. What’s more, some lenders are reportedly just waiting for their accreditation with the Recovery Loan Scheme to get ready to lend on hospitality and leisure sector assets.
