One definition of the word 'transition' is the process or period of changing from one state or condition to another'. In writing, it is 'a word or phrase that connects one idea to another.' It is often in hindsight that we look back and notice what it was that marked that period, or which idea sparked a change that we failed to notice at the time. One thing is for sure, we are constantly on the move. As with nature, even in apparent dormancy, there is energy to be harnessed below the physical surface.
In my work with clients, planning for transitions, whether big or small, whether professional or personal or both, is a rich area for exploration. Noticing and acting upon points of transition in thinking and feeling, in the moment, is another piece of valuable learning for clients during a coaching session. And then, there is planning what next to do with that new awareness.
Over the last few years I have enjoyed noticing the individual and collective points of my own transition in my personal and professional life. This last year has been no exception, notwithstanding the limitation of physical freedoms. My noticing has been illuminated even more through working with a professional coach, with whom I could fully explore what I am really experiencing and what changes it leads me towards.
