What's your working environment like?

Think about your line manager, your employer, your company or organisation and then answer these eight questions.

If you answer ‘no’ five or more times it implies that your organisation doesn’t have the idea of investing in its people ‘top of mind’! Maybe it’s time to review your career options and find one that does.

1. Do they make you feel valued and trusted?
2. Do they ever enquire about your life outside work?
3. Do they offer formal internal career support services?
4. Do they explain why when they ask you to do something?
5. Do they ever offer you the chance to represent the company?
6. Do they involve you in challenges such as new prestige projects?
7. Do they have a mentoring scheme as a part of the company culture?
8. Do they believe in the concept of continuous professional development?
