When we think of interactions with others, whether they are colleagues at work, employees at work, friends, acquaintances or even strangers, the Dalia Lama was absolutely right when he said that it is always possible to be kind.

No matter what your personality style, it is always possible to display an attitude that is kind, benevolent, understanding, compassionate, caring, considerate, respectful, obliging, helpful, pleasant, courteous - the list goes on.

Yes, it’s always possible, but in reality it doesn’t always happen.

A blog in my archive from Kununu (7th Nov 2018) asks “What makes good employees quit?” Of the 16 reasons given, over 50% of them are related in some way to the breakdown of relationships, such that people feel they are not being treated very well by colleagues, line managers or leadership. #proteuscareermanagement #personaldevelopment
