Human Design for Women Who Won’t Shrink Anymore

Human Design for Women Who Won’t Shrink…

Leadership is the most common theme rising in the conversations I am having with women right now. Many of the women who reach out to me have built strong businesses and successful careers. They have earned their authority through years of experience and they know how to lead.

Yet something inside them feels ready for a different expression of leadership. A more grounded version. A more mature version. A version that feels aligned with who they are now rather than who they had to be in the past.

You may recognise yourself here. You have achieved a lot. You know what you bring. You also know you can feel the next chapter forming. You feel the pull toward deeper purpose and clearer influence. You want more space. You want to speak with confidence. You want to lead without sacrificing your wellbeing or performing a leadership style that never belonged to you.

I see this often. Women rise to a certain point then hit an internal wall. Not because they lack ability but because the rooms they have been in were built around leadership models that never supported their energy.

Human Design gives context to this. It explains why certain roles drained you. It explains why some environments activated your wisdom and why others shut you down. It gives language to the deeper truth of how your leadership operates and why your path has unfolded the way it has.

If you are new to Human Design you can look up your chart on my website here https://www.abigailrebecca.com/human-design-chart

This article is for you if you feel that leadership is calling you forward in a new way. You want alignment. You want authenticity. You want a leadership identity that feels true for the woman you are today.

The Leadership Structures Women Were Expected to Survive

Many women grew up in systems that rewarded speed, availability and emotional disconnection. We were told that leadership meant pushing through exhaustion, responding instantly and proving our competence through constant output. We learned to override our bodies because that was the only way to survive inside those environments.

I know this from lived experience. My years in aviation taught me how to lead under pressure. Crisis management requires immediate direction and total clarity. I was good at it. I held responsibility and delivered results. People relied on me.

Yet my body resisted the pace. It was a quiet fight between the expectations placed on me and the way my energy actually worked. That fight took a physical toll. I found myself in hospital more than once with a heart racing at 220 beats per minute.

When I discovered my Human Design I finally understood why. I am a Projector with emotional authority. My clarity forms through emotional processing. I need space to feel into decisions. That is how my wisdom works. The urgency of corporate leadership went against everything my energy needed.

You may recognise your own version of this. You delivered because people needed you. You adapted because you had no choice. And your body carried the cost of leadership delivered inside systems that never supported you.

Human Design helps you see the pattern clearly. Your energy has been speaking to you the entire time. You are only now learning to listen.

Women Are Speaking Honestly About the Reality of Leadership

The women who come into my world do not pretend. They tell the truth about what is happening internally. These women are not beginners. They are established leaders. They have decades of experience behind them.

Yet when they move into a higher level of visibility, the old fears return. Women say things like:

“I freeze when the attention lands on me.”
“I want to step up but something inside tightens.”
“I feel pressure to look polished instead of being myself.”
“I worry about saying the wrong thing.”

These fears come from lived experience. Many women were taught as girls to be agreeable. Many were criticised for using their voice. Many walked into workplaces where they were dismissed or undermined. Many carry wounds caused by other women who were navigating their own insecurities inside competitive environments.

When women step into leadership, all of that history comes with them. The body remembers every moment of being judged, excluded or ridiculed. And when you add the pressure of social media, the fear becomes amplified. Women feel they must present a curated version of themselves in order to be taken seriously.

This is the tension women hold. The desire to lead is rising. The fear of being visible is also rising. Leadership requires self awareness because you need to understand what shaped your hesitation before you can move beyond it.

Human Design Brings Clarity to Leadership

Human Design gives women a framework to understand how their leadership actually works. It shows the rhythm of their energy and the environments that support their voice. It explains why leadership feels aligned in some spaces and draining in others.

One of my clients experienced this in a very clear way. She is a respected coach who works with senior executives. When she discovered she was a Projector, she looked back at her career with new awareness. She noticed that every major opportunity came through recognition. She was always at her strongest when she was invited into rooms rather than forcing her way into them.

She also shared a moment that stayed with her for years. She presented to a board. She delivered her expertise with the same clarity she brings everywhere. The room shut her down. She left feeling embarrassed. She later learned that none of the board members had asked her to be there. Only the investor wanted her in the room.

She blamed herself. Human Design helped her see the truth. The environment was wrong for her leadership. Her voice was not valued. Her energy was not recognised. It was never a lack of ability.

When you understand your design you stop internalising situations that were never about your worth in the first place.

Leadership Needs More Diverse Women

When I prepared Michelle Obama’s Human Design reading, one quote stayed with me. She said she has sat at every powerful table and none of them were as impressive as people think. She encouraged people to focus less on proving they belong and more on creating spaces that value diverse leadership.

This is essential. Leadership needs women with different cultural backgrounds, different lived experiences and different ways of seeing the world. Women carry emotional intelligence, intuition and strategic awareness that patriarchal systems have dismissed for generations.

Many women tell me they are tired of sitting in rooms that feel racist or misogynistic. They are tired of being overlooked. They are tired of shrinking themselves to make others comfortable.

It is time for women to create their own tables.
It is time for women to value themselves and value other women.
It is time to end the patterns of comparison and judgement that keep women from rising.

Human Design recognises environment as part of energetic wellbeing. The rooms you choose influence your clarity, your confidence and the way you lead. My own environment is kitchens. I thrive in spaces that bring people together through diversity, conversation and movement. That is why I created the Expansion Circle. Women lead differently when the room supports their energy.

How Women Step Into Their Next Chapter of Leadership

Know your energy.
When you understand your design you make decisions that feel aligned with your leadership identity rather than decisions shaped by pressure or expectation.

Speak from your lived experience.
Your challenges shaped your wisdom. Your stories carry insight. When you speak openly people trust you. They feel your authenticity.

Choose rooms that support your growth.
Leadership grows in environments where women are respected, valued and encouraged to take up space. Supportive rooms expand you. Unsupportive rooms shrink you.

Women who lead through alignment create impact because they trust themselves. They understand their energy and they know the environment that activates their wisdom.

Step Into the Expansion Circle

If you can feel your leadership calling you forward, the Expansion Circle is built for this stage. It is a space for women who want to lead with clarity, awareness and alignment. You will be supported by women who take their growth seriously and value depth, maturity and authenticity.
