The concept of Lifelong Learning was first introduced in Denmark whilst I was living and working there in 1971.
It is defined as the pursuit of knowledge for personal or professional reasons.
Learning is no longer divided into a place and time to acquire knowledge (school) and a place and time to apply the knowledge acquired (the workplace).
Instead, learning is something that takes place on a daily basis from our engagement with others and from our interaction with the world around us.
It enhances not only our social skills, our competitiveness and our personal development, it also dramatically improves our employability.
Particularly for those of us who take our careers seriously, it is an essential area of focus for everyday life.
Two lessons we can all take from this are as follows.
