Call me crazy, but I just hired a new accountant and I’m paying 3x more than my old one.The old one processed my numbers.
The new one protects my business.
The old one sent me tax summaries.
The new one sends me insight.
I didn’t pay more to do the same thing better.
I paid more to do a better thing entirely.
So when someone says,
“But this other HR consultant does it for less...”
There’s no shade.
No joke.
No hard sell.
I just say:
"We’re not the same".
We don’t just give advice.

Some time ago, a charity came to me after jumping ship from a well-known HR provider.
Three different consultants provided three sets of advice - none of it consistent.
They came to us mid-chaos.
The employee being made redundant had started court proceedings for unfair dismissal.
They company were treading on egg shells.
So, they came to me.
When I analysed the case, I was shocked to find;↳ Letters issued before meetings even took place.
↳ Copy-paste reasons for redundancy.
↳ Conflicting guidance depending on who picked up the phone.
The client was scared.
Not just of the cost - but of the shame.
They knew they’d been misadvised.
They just didn’t know how badly.
When I took over - We rebuilt the process. I started from scratch.
Applied employee rights.
Provided the right to appeal
Produced a real business case for redundancy based on company metrics.
We brought in ethics, not just law.
And it worked.
✔️ No payout.
✔️ No penalty.
✔️ A fully dismissed claim.
This is why we don’t rush letters.
Why we don’t follow scripts.
Why we won’t always say what’s easy to hear.
HR Habitat isn’t cheaper.
