The ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has issued a stark warning to Sajid Javid in regard to the recent budget announcement.
The new chancellor plans to loosen public spending within the current fiscal rules and government departments will see budget increases, which is particlulary good new given the current economic uncertainties that lie ahead.
With increased spending available, the ACCA has advised that the chancellor also needs to urgently address the following:
- Rebalance the tax burden to tackle climate change
- Infrastructure investments
- More support for small business.
With the ongoing dramas and events of Brexit, it is not surprising that the chancellor Sajid Javid's spending announcements did not make the headlines as they otherwise would normally do, however some would argue that these key areas of spending are of equal importance.
