How to complete a VAT Return
In the UK, businesses that are registered for Value Added Tax (VAT) must submit regular VAT returns to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). These returns provide a summary of the business's VAT transactions for a specific period and allow HMRC to calculate the amount of VAT that is owed or due to the business.
VAT returns are usually submitted every three months, although some businesses may be required to submit them more frequently, depending on their VAT accounting scheme. The deadlines for submitting VAT returns and paying any VAT owed are also dependent on the VAT accounting scheme used by the business.
