David is a non-practicing solicitor with over 25 years of dispute resolution experience in City and regional firms. His expertise is in finding robust commercial solutions to complex, high value problems and he is highly regarded by institutions and individuals alike.
A former reconnaissance officer, David understands the importance of watching the horizon. He was an early adopter of the new principles of mediation, immediately seeing the advantages of being able to apply imaginative, deal-based agreements that can sidestep the cost and delay of traditional ‘attritional’ litigation and arbitration mechanisms.
He brings considerable practical mediation experience to Moot Hill Partners, as well as commercial experience gained in project management on behalf of a family company with interests in manufacturing and overseas trade, particularly in Africa.
David adds hard-edged SME cost consciousness to the high standards demanded by FTSE clients and the policy awareness required by government bodies.
His expertise includes the management of professional services companies, intellectual property, banking, insurance and insolvency disputes. As a trustee of a military charity and amateur historian, David takes a great interest in defence matters.
