In these difficult times there are several things we can do to distract us from the relentless fascination we have for counting things related to Covid19.

There are numerous things we can't count that really do count, such as friendship, honour, integrity, attitude.

Yet counting things of no value seems to be part of the human condition: counting sheep, counting steps as we walk, the minutes between home and work, the number of people in our LinkedIn network.

We even have expressions like, "it's a numbers game". But remember, your career isn't a numbers game, it's a people game: the people in your network are your most valuable asset - so don't count them, instead value, support and help them. Give and you will receive.
